Manila's shopping scene is getting better and better every time big companies bring in the stores Filipinos like to visit when traveling abroad. Latest import is MUJI, a Japanese retail company which sells a wide variety of household and consumer goods including food, clothes and cosmetics.
The first time I went there, the queue was unbelievably long! So I emptied my half-filled basket and left. It was only their second day of opening so its understandable. I let a week pass before going back, fortunately (or unfortunately, however you want to see it) I did not leave empty handed the second time. Although there were products I wanted which sold out. Bummer.
I managed to get a blusher in Rose Pink (which Jennifer reviewed and recommended to try on her blog), a couple of face cleansing nets (which Kay featured in her blog a few weeks back), a bottle of cleansing oil and a tube of gel cleansing. I was good right? :P
close-ups of the blusher:
packaging is a dead ringer for the Shu Uemura Glow-on blushers. A lot of companies seem to favor copying the Shu Uemura packaging huh? (hello The Face Shop, MUJI!) ^_~
Anyway, being the blusher lover that I am, this one is pretty unique to me since its MATTE. Almost all of my blushers have shimmer in them so I was really excited to try this. Price is pretty good too, it only costs, Php350 (approx. USD7).
I haven't tried the cleansing oil yet, but I will definitely put up a review once I do. Does anyone know how to use the GEL CLEANSING properly? Does it work like a makeup remover or a facial wash? LOL. I can't find any instructions online. :P
Thanks in advance lovelies!

hi,I heard the cleansing oil is a great alternative to shu uemura cleansing oils. :) Let us know what you think :)
ReplyDeleteThe packaging looks like the old Shu one indeed. I said before that I will never go to Muji but after seeing this blush, I just might change my mind. It looks pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteHi!!! Where are MUJI shops located?? :P
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
enchi :3
Muji is supposed to open a branch over here, but I have YET to see anything *grrr*
ReplyDeleteBihada Ichizoku's blush has that same packaging lol!! That cleansing gel looks interesting, do lmk if you ever find out how to use it!
ohh please review the cleansing oil!! muji is quite a good price for most things but their furniture is really overpriced o_O so we go to Nittori instead :P
ReplyDeleteHey Georgina!
ReplyDeletewow you picked up Muji's blush!!! :D i was tehre yesterday and was thinking of getting their facial moisturizer :S
the makeup remover is supposedly a good dupe of the higher-end ones but i have yet to try :P!
maybe we can ask the salespersons when we're in HK's Muji????
I think the gel cleanser should be used as any other facial wash. It's just the texture is more thick not milkish. IMHO
ReplyDeleteCleansing nets! YEY I've read about them, must be fun to use them!^^
7 bucks for the blush? That's super! And the color looks pretty too! And how much the others cost? Like the cleansing oil....it seems quite a big bottle....around 200ml?
Cooooolll I love Muji stuff!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cleansing oil! Hope you'll like yours too :)
ReplyDeletei forgot to reply to your NARS compact taping comment XD
ReplyDeletei think its going to take 2 years at least for the packaging to degenerate into the gluey and sticky state...but try not to put them under sun, near heat...i think these make them degenerate faster. You can tape them when they start to get sticky, but for now, enjoy the black rubbery feeling! (it actually feels nice when it's new) :P
Hi!!That blush looks nice...so much like the shiseido blushes....
ReplyDeletepretty blusher!
ReplyDeletenever tried a gel cleansing oil before, but since it is in the cleansing oil category, I think you will take a small amount, rub it around your face to soften the makeup, and then go over to the sink, wet your hand just a lil bit, message your face again to emulsify the oil product so now the product should become a milky white texture and non-greasy anymore. then you can just rinse off all together :) hope that helps!
What a lovely blush color! :)
ReplyDeletethe blush is really pretty. can we have a swatch sometime plz? yea the packaging is very similar to the shu's
ReplyDeleteoooo lovely haul! i love MUJI products although ive never personally been in there. theres this yummy candy and the pens work really well lol cant wait fro the review of the cleansing oil!
ReplyDeleteI saw MUJI around everywhere in HK but I dont think Ive tried their products (I think it was bc there was just TOO much stuff to try out haha) The blusher looks really pretty :) I'm always one for shimmry blushes too but matte ones are great when you want to look super natural and work appropriate hehe
ReplyDeleteit's a very pretty blush! let us know how it is. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh you got the blush! XD Lucky girl! I guess I will just have to live my MUJI shopping excusions vicariously through you girls.
ReplyDeleteP.S Big kudos to you for making creme brulee and voting! I'd try making it but me and torches are not a safe combo. XP
ReplyDeletewahh i might be gg to muji to buy the cleansing oil!!
ReplyDeleteCanada SO needs to have more asian stores comin up in here!
ReplyDeleteOoh...I've never heard of this, but now I want to get my hands on some!
ReplyDeleteCleansing oil/gel I think is waterless make up removing...as in you put the product on and rub it in without water and only use water afterward to rinse it off. Some people wipe it off so I guess they don't use water at all...o.o I like rinsing 'cause I'm used to it.
