Preview May 2010 Scans

Hello everyone! Please excuse my 4-day blogger absence, it was a busy (mother's day-family bonding) weekend, then we had the very first automated elections in the Philippines (which I am truly happy to experience despite the killer heat and long queue) and yesterday i got sick again! Seriously, who gets the chills in the middle of summer? bummer. I'm feeling so much better now than yesterday, but I still have to rest so I cant stay on blogger too long for now. I got scans for the May issue of fashion mag Preview to show you today. I only got to scan the beauty section yesterday before I got the chills, I hope you enjoy it!

KC Concepcion on the cover urging people to VOTE! How cute is that hat?! :)

tips on how to achieve a smooth, glowing and flawless complexion in the beauty section.

makeup for humid weather conditions, MUA Gela Laurel-Stehmeier suggests silicone based foundations for a lightweight finish and tints rather than powder blushers for a longer lasting color on cheeks. She also loves Lancôme's waterproof mascaras which lasts on our humid weather.

skin saving supplements, like the oral UVA/UVB protection capsules from Heliocare; which i think its very interesting.

tanning must haves:

celebrity nail polish expert Deborah Lippmann on the Beauty Guru section:
I have yet to try Lippmann nail lacquers, they sound promising!

more sun protection products to keep our skin safe from damaging UVA/UVB rays:

I noticed a lot of people are sick, the weather is really taking its toll on our health so please be safe and keep away from the harsh sun and drink lots of water and vitamins. that's all for now, back to bed I go! :)

Preview April 2010 Scans

Fashion glossie Preview is on a roll, putting pretty ladies on their covers this year. For April, dancer/actress Maja Salvador poses in couture swimsuits for model/photographer Jo Ann Bitagcol's very first cover shoot.
I swear, she got waaaay hotter when she had her hair cut shorter. She looks so chic now compared to her previous look. oh and check out those killer skull heels from Kermit Tesoro! Filipino pride yo ;)

The beauty section features summer melt-resistant makeup:

its the time to sport colors far from serious browns and taupes! go for loud pinks and pretty purples!

The latest MAC Viva Glam campaign featuring Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga:

See the Viva Glam timeline on the right side? :)

spotted: The Beauty Blender sponge ;)

anti-aging products, Etude House goodies and beauty tools

A feature on Argan Oil and by products available locally:

All season travel essentials:
ooohhh...the MAC Lightful Ultra Charged Foundation makes an appearance! I like the cool colored compact!

Products to protect the skin from the harsh sun while making the face look flawless.

For lucky people in cooler (not freezing) climates:

A mag ad insert from local clothing brand Bayo and Johnson & Johnson's skin care:
I love the romantic feel of this collection! My kind of look :)

the model's makeup complements the clothes very well, soft and subtle colors to accentuate the shadows in her face...It works! :)

cover girl Maja working that wrap around maillot and the skull heels:
her facial expression is a little awkward, but it's still a beautiful photo.

Safari themed eye makeup featured with a Louis Vuitton scarf:
are you digging the no eyebrows look? erm, maybe for halloween.

Very cute swimsuit!
kneeling on those rocks must hurt big time. Can you say OUCH? hahaha! Oh the life of a model, this photo makes me thankful I'm not one. (As if!) harhar! I hope you enjoyed the scans! Have a great week ahead!

Preview March 2010 Scans

Hello beauties! I realized its been a week since my last post and I seriously needed to update or you might think I've evaporated in this hot, hot weather. haha. Anyway, I just got my copy of Preview Magazine's March 2010 issue, since its summertime for us here in the Philippines, the issue features style and beauty articles relevant for the season.

They put the undoubtedly pretty doctor/model/actress Maricar Reyes on the cover wearing florals. (yes, she has a medical degree :))
Even though she is petite, she managed to elongate her limbs in this shot, making her look a lot taller.

I like her braided hair and vibrant lips. :)

The perfect outfit to make you 'bloom' this summer :)

The 10 Swimsuit Commandments:

some summertime fashion picks by the fashion editor
the colors here look so cool and fresh, and the Topshop lace shoes are beyond lovely!

The Beauty Section:
Thumbs up on the title! :)
I have to say this, they need to step it up on their beauty section! (ok, this is a fashion magazine but still, step it up Preview! :)) I've got my eyes on that MAC concealer with SPF. ;)

a feature on some korean salons:
apparently, super straight hair is out and wavy locks are in! What do you think about digital perm? Has anyone tried it yet? Would love to know about your thoughts.

Have a happy week ahead!

January Magazines: Stella + Preview

January Magazines: Stella & Preview

Stella Jan-Feb 2010: Beauty, Fashion and Travel (Bangkok)
Thai sweetheart, Paula Taylor

This is my first time buying Stella magazine, what caught my eye? Paula Taylor of course, i think she is such a darling. Besides being pretty, I love her personality, she can slack off and be a prima donna in Thailand (where she is super duper famous), but she still opts to go to foreign countries and try her luck. She's also popular here in the Philippines because of The Amazing Race Asia, her "friendship" with sporty hunk Marc Nelson, endorsements and a movie with a veteran comedian last year. Hong Kong is her next target market, will she make it? We'll have to wait and see.

Plum shades for spring, are you feeling it?

Preview: Fashion and Beauty
The first lady of boxing, Jinkee Pacquiao

I like the way they styled her for the cover, I think its very chic for Jinkee. It's very wearable too, not over the top imho.
Animal prints: ROAR!

Spring looks: Fringe benefits, Naked eye

I also like this issue of Preview because it has lots of pages dedicated to beauty and how to fix common makeup mistakes, which is helpful to non-pros like me.

What beauty trends are you feeling this season? As for me, I'm sticking to pretty pink lips and soft blushers during the day. I love it, so fresh like flowers in springtime. :)
