Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Waterproof Mascara

Mascaras are not just Minnie Mouse's best friend, they're mine too! Its one of those "can't live without" products in my makeup bag, its my lash curler's best friend, and together, they complete me. *cuddles with 'scara* I have been quite lucky that my mascara picks have been consistently good and now I will share another tube of peeper prettifying wonder, the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Waterproof Mascara [length & volume lash artillery]. I am always drawn to waterproof versions because I am terribly afraid of smudging and raccoon eyes.
It comes in a weighty, hair finish metal tube which undoubtedly makes it a luxurious mascara.

As you can see, the wand looks like a standard mascara comb, full and dense but not to the point of being clumpy. I hope that made sense :P

Here's how it looks on me, no other eye makeup just the ETK mascara:
my bottom lashes are bare so you can see how the mascara thickens each lash.

This one is quite amazing, it does what it says- volume and length are evident, plus its really comfortable to wear! It has a lightweight formula which made my lashes stay curled all day and soft to touch without smudging nor flaking. If you are one to splurge on mascaras (HKD280), I'd TOTALLY recommend this to you. It also comes in a regular (non-waterproof) formula in black, brown and gray shades.

Happy hump day!

Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus BR666 (LE)

It's finally out in our local department stores Manila based lovelies! My HG mascara in a subtle brown color.  I bought mine last Sunday at SM Makati, had to wait for almost 2 hours just for the SA and the cashier to come into a proper settlement as the Sugary Trap collection's bar codes weren't working yet. I almost ran out of patience,  good thing the beauty section was quite huge and filled with loads of interesting stuff. xD

anyway, here it is!

close-up of BR666
a rich chocolate brown shade, I had to remind myself its not edible. :P

I'm actually wearing it today, no other makeup used aside from UD 24/7 liner in Bourbon (which I can't live without). Its too hot to wear foundation right now.

PRO's:
♥ Contains long fibers for lengthening effect.
♥ holds the curl all day
♥ Smudge-proof, waterproof - no panda eyes (O.O)
♥ Lightweight
♥ Soft color, natural looking
♥ Brush type wand separates lashes, no clumps!
♥ Reasonably priced for a great quality mascara (Php795 approx. USD18)
♥ Available locally!

CON's:
♥ Limited Edition
♥ Difficult to remove, must use oil based cleanser

I'm really excited about this mascara, its a perfect shade for summer, a great alternative to the usual black I wear, and I'm sure it won't budge under the sweltering heat! Highly recommended to my lovelies! :)

Hard to believe were almost halfway through 2011! Happy merry month of May!

Weekend Updates + Kiss Me Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara

Happy Monday everyone! How was your weekend? I had a fun and pleasurable one because I got to see and spend some time with my high school classmates/friends when I attended C & M's wedding on Saturday night with lurvey, the bride wore a beautiful dress by no less than Vera Wang, accented with a beaded waist sash by the talented Janna Katipunan who also happens to be the little sister of another high school friend. Gosh that made me feel ancient. lol. Janna's creation added a sweet and sparkly detail to the bride's simple yet romantic Vera Wang pick. Gawrsh, it was pretty! :)

here's our lurveydurvey souvenir photo from the party:

Then on Sunday, lurvey and I had a late lunch date at Arya with our good friend M of Urbanity.ph to comfort him while his ladylove K is in Vietnam ;) It was a persian feast, yummers! :D Overall, it was a lovely weekend for me because I love seeing our friends and catching up on their respective lives, reminisce about our memories when we were still in school and plan our next food trips together. I think its true what they say, friendship develops best over good food! :) oops! no decent pics as we were too busy chatting and eating! hahaha!

As for the beauty part of this post, today i'm going to share some thoughts on Kiss Me Heroine Make's Long & Curl Mascara, this is a japanese drugstore brand. I got it from Sasa (Hong Kong) for HKD59 (approx. $8)
packaging is a regular tube, maroon in color with gold text and feminine details.

the wand is slightly curved and it has a twisted brush which makes application smooth.
If you are looking for a nice drugstore brand mascara which can decently curl and lengthen lashes, I will gladly recommend this next to my HG Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus.

Here's a "with and without" product shot:
(this is why i love mascaras!)

Lunasol 10th Anniversary Makeup Palette

Seriously, sometimes I wish that I had an event to go to everyday or that I had 10 faces (not!) just to use the things in my collection. LOL. I also wish I had discovered my love of cosmetics sooner. Im such a late bloomer! heehee. which leads me to my actual post subject: the Lunasol 10th Anniversary Makeup Palette. I know its been out for a long while but I have been resisting, telling myself I don't want the mascara and the lip gloss, it would be a waste if I bought it. But after seeing the beige beige palettes get more attention recently, it ignited my interest for the palette (the beauty blogging world is such a tempting place to be in!) since i like neutral shades and the blush is super pretty, I finally got myself a set. woohoo! :)

The box and the palette pouch:
the patent brown pouch looks so sleek and pretty, too bad it's a fingerprint magnet. :(

What's inside:
Product close ups:

High Stylized Mascara EL Black
The mascara is mediocre, it doesn't curl or lengthen my lashes that much, the only thing I like about it is the wand. As facebook users would say: UNLIKE! hahaha! I'd rather stick with Lancôme and Majolica Majorca mascaras.

Full Glamor Gloss N in Ex 08 Beige Coral:
The gloss has a pretty shade of coral-pink and lots of shimmers which gives off a really pretty pout, it doesn't dry my lips that much like other glosses (hello NARS). See Blushed Wombat's extensive review and swatches here. Her lip swatches are amazing :)

Noble Shade Liner in Ex 01 Deep Brown:
I LOOOVE this liner! the applicator brush is just perfect (not too thin or thick for me), its easy to manipulate and the shade is a really beautiful chocolate brown with micro shimmers. It does not smudge and it dries quite fast. 5 stars! :)

swatches:

Overall, I really like this set, it would be great for traveling. The colors are all very wearable for everyday, I think it has a good value for money because you get a full sized eyeshadow palette, blush + highlighter and gloss plus the handy sized mascara and the eyeliner. Another LUNASOL LOVE! ♥.♥-
