The Untouchables

I believe all cosmetic fiends have a couple (or more) products we always plan to use but dont have the heart to dent or scratch that lovely overspray or embossed design. Usually its the limited edition blushers or eyeshadow palettes that I want to keep immaculate.

Here are my current untouchables:

Lunasol Summer 2010 LE eyeshadow palettes

Lunasol Summer 2011 LE eyeshadow palettes

lastly,

my precious Guerlain Blush G

*swoons*

need I explain more? :P What are your untouchables? I really want to know! C'mon, you know I'm not the only crazy gal one! ^_~

Guerlain Rouge G Serie Noir in 71 Rose Desir

There's just something about Guerlain's limited editions that sets my heart aflutter, as almost all the Guerlains I own are from LE collections. Today I'm going to share my thoughts on Guerlain's Rouge G Serie Noir in 71 Rose Desir from the Spring 2011 collection. This is my first Guerlain lipstick (I just paid with eyes closed) and I must say, it was love at first swipe!

Packaging is a very luxe and elegant looking black lacquered case with mirrors on two sides, it has a magnetic enclosure which is rather weak and can loosen up easily when tossed inside a roomy purse. It also weighty, heavier than YSL Rouge Voluptes which are the heaviest lipsticks I owned before getting the Rouge G.

The lipstick formula is amazing, its very hydrating and kind to my lips. I usually need to apply lip balm or essence prior to lip color but this one doesn't need prepping at all! Rouge G is the BEST lipstick I have tried so far when it comes to moisturizing abilities. Plus it doesn't leave me with that gross, ugly white film which forms on the edge of my lips some lipsticks tend to do (yuck). The quality justifies the price tag for me. I just wish they make refills for Rouge G's. I've been using mine a lot and it seems I'm halfway through my tube!

swatch:
Its a semi-sheer, semi-opaque rosey-pink lipstick with pink and silver shimmer. It makes my lips look naturally milky and glossy and lasts 4-5 hours. The shimmer is not that gritty since its very fine but you will still feel it. Rouge G's have a faint rose scent which doesn't linger for long after application.

My verdict? Rouge G is a must-try lovelies! The shade I picked may not be unique but the formula is DIVINE which makes it very comfortable to wear. I highly recommend it! This is LE, so get it while you still can; or you can try other shades and let me know what I'm missing out! ;)

Spring 2011: Guerlain Haul

Hello lovelies! Apologies for the lack of posts last week, I was out and about running business errands almost everyday...but now I'm back with some eye candy to perk up your Monday!

Hauled a bit from the Guerlain counter (@Rustan's) last week, I got the Rouge G (lipstick) in 71 Rose Desir and an Ombre Éclat I Couleur (eyeshadow) in 186 L'instant D'une Ondée. The blush G was a gift from Lurvey's mom. *luckygalme*

Now I am happy to report that I am done with the Spring collections as I already have my coveted Guerlain cosmetics!

Blusher and lipstick (both in black packaging) are limited edition products.

here they are in all their gorgeousness. Fun and vibrant yet still sophisticated shades suitable to wear altogether. Individual reviews and swatches are coming soon. :)

G is for Gorgeous

Oh dear. I know I just did a post on a blusher, but I think I'm in love with another blusher AGAIN. Just look at those blusher shades, oh and that big G embossed in the palette! I die!!! x_x
Guerlain Blush G Serie Noire: Limited edition, four-tone gradational blush inspired by the Rouge G. (8085yen) Why, oh why does it have to be that expensive Guerlain?! *sigh*  The ad photo is so washed out, the ->blusher has shades of orangey peach, fuschia, bronze and rose pink based from my impression. For more photos of Guerlain's full Spring 2011 collection, head on to Rouge Deluxe!

Crap. I think I know what my first purchase for 2011 as the Spring collection is set to be released in January. Any benefactors out there? Ahh... I hope I get money-filled ang baos this holiday season just so I can get this blush without full-on guilt! *fingers crossed*

Guerlain Cherry Blossom for Spring 2010

EDIT: Swatches are now up!
One word: GORGEOUS. I wasn't really planning on hauling that fun friday night, but when I passed by the Guerlain counter at Rustan's, I was greeted by a selling event featuring the Cherry Blossom collection which I have been lemming for since November 2009. Well, I am happy to report that the wait has been worth it! :)

Here are some pretty photos of the blush and eyeshadow quad:
I love how elegant the case looks. The simplicity of the delicate black creates a beautiful contrast with the colorful eyeshadows/blush when you open the case.

Blush Éclat Cherry Blossom 07 & Ombre Éclat 408 Jeu d'Ombrelles

The blush, when applied, creates a light, pretty pastel pink flush.

Blush Éclat Cherry Blossom 07 swatch:
No, that's not a bruise on my arm, that's actually the blush swatch ;) i hope you can see it!

MA did a good job on giving me tips and a mini tutorial on how to blend the colors in the palette.

Eyeshadow palette 408 Jeu d'Ombrelles swatches:
colors from left to right: upper left, upper right, lower left and lower right

I am officially declaring that I am a giddy Guerlain fan. I really love the texture of their eyeshadows. MA also tried the Ombre Eclat Eyeshadow Primer on me, which I loved, and now lemming for. Oh dear. Good thing it was OOS. hahaha! I should just remind myself that gorgeous things really come to those who wait. ^_~

Have a happy weekend!

ps. The MAC Spring Color Forecast collection will be available today at MAC counters/stores (except Marrionaud, Mall of Asia which will be launching the collection on Sunday) MAC junkies rejoice! ;)

10 Honest Things About Me + A Relapse Haul

I got tagged by the sweet ehlee of superwoolu.blogspot.com to do a "10 honest things about me" post, its my first time being tagged so I'll be obedient and do ittttt! :)

[insert any photo]
Lurvey, G & Bowie ^_^
This is a very recent photo. Yes, I had my hair cut, 6 inches were chopped off by the stylist. I had it cut because it's summertime and its so hot! Oh and just in case you might want an update for the Prettia Bubble Hair Color. ;)

1. I like being alone, especially when shopping, i don't like the feeling when someone is so bored waiting for me. hahaha!

2. I like musicals, The Phantom of the Opera is my favorite. I was so moved to tears when I watched it in NY.

3. I don’t like driving at night, bright lights give me a headache.

4. I love going to the supermarket; I find it therapeutic.

5. i CAN'T pack light, even if i try, i still end up bringing the whole house - I think I got that trait from my mom.

6. If I could, I would wear high heels 24/7. But I love flats too! Those Miu Miu flats in my last post are really haunting me I tell you.

7. I am fascinated by Korean fashion, their style looks so sweet and feminine, eternally cute yet current at the same time.

8. I am an old soul when it comes to music…I listen to marvin gaye, louis armstrong, dean martin and the likes…

9. i use 4 different pairs of shampoo and conditioner alternately - to prevent product build up which causes itching and dandruff. eew.

10. I would love to learn mandarin - so i can easily converse with locals whenever I go to HK. :)

As promised, here are my Rilakkuma plushies Ehlee! :)
We're plushie sisters now. ;)

I would like to tag all the lovely ladies who commented on my Mad About Miu Miu post:

Weekend Holiday Haul + thoughts

Christmas is just around the bend so I tried to shop for everyone in my list last weekend, I still have to shop some more, but I'm satisfied with what I have accomplished so far. Needless to say, traffic around the metro was bad and finding a parking space at the mall was close to impossible but I managed to get by thank goodness for valet!

Of course, I wouldn't be as diligent as a happy camper if i wasn't able to buy some stuff for myself so here are some holiday gifts to self. hahaha ^_~

My Rustan's weekend haul
clockwise from top: Lunasol Star Shower Eyes in 03 Dazzling Night, Stila E/S in Wheat, Guerlain LE Meteorites Perles Imperials, Fair Crea White UV Face Powder SPF 16 PA++ Refill, Fair Crea White UV Face Powder SPF 16 PA++ Case, Bobbi Brown Rich Color Gloss in Dusty Rose, Lunasol Treatment Mascara Base

Product Close ups:

Lunasol Star Shower Eyes palette in 03 Dazzling Night
I could not resist any longer, i just had to have it already! hahaha. This is the main palette for Lunasol's 2009 Autumn Collection. A lot of beauty bloggers have raved and ranted over this, i just had to see for myself. so far im loving the main and shade colors (both on the right side of the palette) As usual, the redundant white shimmer is still there on the top left, only difference is the bling. ^.^ I think this will be perfect for upcoming holiday get togethers. Click on this if you would like to see Fuz Kittie's day to night FOTD using Dazzling Night :)

Lunasol Treatment Mascara Base
I'm using this today and i must say that its really nice, it helps in lengthening lashes, no clumps, its nice on its own, but better with your HG mascara. Its a mascara booster! I'm loving it! :)

Bobbi Brown Rich Color Gloss in Dusty Rose
A lip balm, lip color & gloss in one tube. This stuff is addicting! It feels soft and doesn't dry out my lips at all even without a lip essence. I got Dusty Rose, a pink mauve color, it looks nice on pigmented lips plus its long lasting too! They sell out really fast so if you're in Manila and you're lemming for this, get the one you like NOW. (Rustan's Makati has more shades available the only shade OOS is Tutu, a cool pink)

Guerlain Holiday Collection Meteorites - Perles Imperials
Aside from it being LE, the all black packaging lured me into buying this baby as it looks way better than the cheap looking cardboard packaging of the regular Meteorites. But I'm not complaining, as it beautifully sets make up, evens out your skin tone  and gives you a pretty, pearly glow. It is pink toned and a little shimmery, I don't mind that but some beauty bloggers prefer wearing this only at night. The Guerlain Holiday collection arrived last week at Rustan's. And yes, I'm contemplating on getting the Bal de Minuit E/S palette. *sigh*

Fair Crea White UV Face Powder  SPF 16 PA++ Case & refill
I bought this for travel as I'm always on the go, my Jill Stuart loose powder although pretty, just won't cut it. I need another one with more practical packaging. The Fair Crea White UV Face Powder is really fine and the puff is soft like clouds, aside from the SPF 16, i feel like it has moisturizing properties and the skin really absorbs it. Even if you go overboard it still won't look ghostly as it is translucent. I don't think i can recommend it for oily skin types though. ^_^

I was eyeing the LUNASOL Micro Finish Powder N 01 but the kind, chummy SA's @ Kanebo recommended this because of the UV protection and treatment properties. If you have the Lunasol Micro Finish Powder N, would you recommend it? Because I'm still lemming for it. Kill it please! lol

Love at first delight @_@

I really am a sucker for all things pretty, so imagine my delight when i came across this beauty at Guerlain, it was love at first sight, i knew i wanted to take this pretty baby home. :) But with the Php3,850 (Approx. US $80) price tag, i chose to wait for the BPI Megatent Sale where i got it for Php1,800!!! can you believe it? more than 50% off! i was so happy! ;) Why pay more when you can pay less then buy more? did i confuse you? hahaha!

The Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Cherry Blossom is a light, fresh floral scent which will remind you of spring and summer all year round. If you like fresh, citrusy & floral scents you will like this one. Perfect if you're in need of some refreshing of the visual and olfactory senses. heehee :)
