Singapore Haul!

My cosmetics shopping was restricted to brands exclusive to Singapore, and I'd like to think it was quite a success. The blogger babes were a big help, always telling me "don't buy here la, buy in Hong Kong!" Thanks for the restricted enabling ladies! You know who you are <3

Sephora loot:
Bath time buddies from Soap & Glory. Spy that BREAKFAST SCRUB? It smells like pancakes drizzled with maple syrup. OMGee, truly a feast for the olfactory senses. Im not kidding! One sniff and I was sold. The bulkiness didn't stop me from putting it into my basket.

Sephora Waterproof Jumbo Eye Pencils, a DiorSnow BB cream sample and fresh SUGAR Lip Treatment in  Honey.

Watson's
I got the matomage Utena Hair Styling Stick for my stubborn stray hair (I read that the Green colored packaging is for those with long and thick hair) and a DHC Platinum White foundation base in beige,  highly recommended by blogger pal Elaine

Magazines from Kinokuniya:
purchased Voce & ViVi with member discount. Thanks Lynn! ^_^
GLA was given to me by sweet Stellar when we met up in Kuala Lumpur.

The Make Up Store
This is my first encounter with the Swedish brand, their simple black look sends off a very professional feel both in the store all the way to the packaging, which is comparable to Makeup Forever. I got a fresh and vibrant smelling perfume and 2 holo polishes which I am so excited to swatch for the lovelies!

Changi T3
spotted the L'Oreal Infaillibles (SGD 14.30) on 30% discount, took advantage of the offer and grabbed all the remaining shades! I was told that these have sold out as of writing. *lucky G*

also managed to get the prettiest looking YSL travel palette, Stellar enabled made me try hers back in KL and I really liked the color and texture of the lipstick. I can't get over the patent fuchsia packaging, it looks and feels luxurious, it can pass as an über chic iPhone case!

I'm slowly picking up my pace with blogging, and definitely getting my groove back... hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for reading!

Sephora Love Pack From Anne: Dior and bareMinerals

It's good to have friends, but its better if you have great friends who appreciate what you do. I am blessed to have some rare jewels I intend to keep for life. Annieloves (my term of endearment for her) is one of them. She supports me and my blog and I'm super thankful for that!

Okay, sorry for the mush mush! Moving on...

Anne went on a US trip and asked me if I wanted something from the cosmetic mecca Sephora, silly question right? :P long story short, I asked her to get me my long coveted Dior Lip Glow and bareMinerals foundation in medium beige; told her I would pay her when she comes back, but she insisted on giving them to me as gifts. ♥ her! :)

Beauty Books

I've always wanted to learn how to apply makeup properly, unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of time to enroll myself into a formal makeup course, so instead I collect beauty books and makeup manuals that I can read whenever i need inspiration or reminding on what or how makeup should be done. I am no professional, I just really enjoy it that's all. Plus they make really nice coffee table books too! A little personal touch is always nice. :)

My beauty books @_@-

The 5 Minute Face by Carmindy
This is the first beauty book I ever bought, I didn't know who Carmindy was at the time (2006), but the title caught my attention, makeup in 5 minutes? Im sold. haha! Seriously, if you need guidance on proper skin care and makeup essentials, tools, etc. this book will help you a lot like it helped me. It has tutorials on different looks for a variety of skin tones and different looks for occasions you might be attending (i.e. black tie, weddings) but my favorite part is the 5 minute makeup tutorial, from base makeup to point. no eyeshadows in the 5 minute face sorry to say, just simple, pretty plain jane makeup.

Sephora: The Ultimate Guide to Makeup, Skin and Hair by Melissa Schweiger
After months of reading and re-reading the my first beauty book, I decided to get another one. What better book to have than that of the cosmetic giant, Sephora. This book has a lot of pages dedicated to products, the best mascaras, blush, powder, even perfume!

Bobbi Brown: Beauty Evolution by Bobbi Brown with Sally Wadyka
This is my sister's book which she let me borrow, I almost always get sleepy when i read this (hahaha!) This one encourages all women, that no matter what age group you belong to, you are always beautiful and you need to take care of yourself. What I loved in this book is the hair color guide. :)

Beauty by hair color, Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual
The newest beauty book of the bunch, I got curious about this when I saw it at the Bobbi Brown counter, this book covers skin care, base makeup, point makeup, making a portfolio, making it as an artist and beauty tools too! *whew* that was quite a list! If you are a budding makeup artist who wants insider info about the makeup industry, this will help you a lot. The only downside is that it is quite redundant if you have the Bobbi Brown Beauty Evolution books since there are a few tricks and topics you can find in both books.

Do you have a favorite beauty book you would like to share? I'd love to hear it to add more titles to my puny collection. ^_~
