Nailaholic HK Haul!

Went on a business trip to Hong Kong earlier this month but still managed to sneak in some brisk shopping at Causeway Bay with my blogger pals Jenn & Rach where I bought mostly nail stuff, hence the entry title. hee hee!

Sunshine after the rain... OPI Need Sunglasses? NOTD

Hello dear lovelies! Remember me? :D Sorry for that long and unannounced hiatus, as I've said before, March is a busy month for me. But now I'm back and I have another nail post for you in a fun and vibrant color... with all the things that are happening around the world right now, I think it would be nice to spread joy to everyone we can connect with. *Can I get an amen?*

OPI Need Sunglasses? from the OPI Brights collection.

Its a sunshine-y, mustard-y yellow that flatters my warm skin tone. woot! It has tiny specks of shimmer to add a bit of dimension to the nails. Application is very streaky, it took me 4 thin coats to get the opacity shown in the photos.

tip: it will look fabulous worn with neutrals, khaki, army-chic and safari-themed/colored clothes. Try it! :)

I believe its already sold out, but just in case anyone is wondering, I bought mine at Rustan's Shangri-la for Php395.

China Glaze Tree Hugger + Konad NOTD

When I paint my nails, I usually have no idea what to do and what color to choose, so I just grab the ones I haven't worn yet.

I picked up OPI Green-wich village and painted my nails... then thought it looked kinda dull so I topped it off with CG Tree Hugger and I loved the result! This NOTD makes me feel lucky! ^_~

Here are the nail polish I used:

OPI Natural Nail Base Coat, OPI Green-wich Village, China Glaze Tree Hugger, Konad Special Nail Polish in White and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

also tried my free fauxnad plate from bornprettystore and my Konad stamper set

I don't know if its just me but its so hard to pick up the image! it took me countless tries before the image stuck to the rubber. KONAD FAIL. I gave up on my right hand after an hour of trying really hard, it drove me crazy! >.<

on another note, I want to thank all of you who left comments on my last tag post, appreciated my handwriting and found it 'cute', OMG. All my life I have been frustrated and envied my friends who have the perfect cursive or block type of handwriting. Hahaha! Thank you lovelies for turning my frustration into joy. BIG bearhugs to all of you!

Happy Hearts Day NOTD

Hello lovelies! Its Monday again... and its Valentine's day! I hope everyone feels the love today, with or without a date. The important thing is that we are all blessed with a heart who can feel this warm and fuzzy feeling called LOVE.

OK before I get all mushy-gooey on you here's my NOTD for the occasion:

Singapore Haul

aka THE Birthday Haul. This is my first time I'm having my birthday as a beauty blogger, and the fact that I was spending it in Singapore did not help in keeping my wallet safe from the damage. Hello Sephora! Sasa! Watson's! ION Orchard and Takashimaya!

random fact: I used to gift myself with gadgets, then purses and now cosmetics. eeeep! As lurvey would say, "I wonder what's next?" should I say DIAMONDS and see if he would faint? hahaha! :P

first up, skincare from FANCL! Lovely Stellar swore by FANCL products for keeping her skin clear and healthy during one of her HK trips. I was curious, so I had to get me some FANCL to try!

2 bottles of Tense Up EX Collagen drinks as GWP, FANCL rest eye gel, light lotion, milky lotion, washing powder and the foaming ball. I also got a free lifetime membership card for spending a certain amount. I think it was for purchases amounting to S$100 and up.

Nails Inspired by YSL's Fall 2010 Couture Manicure

Being a nail art FAN, emphasis on being a FAN because I don't think I have the hands for those exquisite nail art some bloggers do, but I appreciate so much. It was love at first sight (not minding the photoshopped fingers of the hand models - no hand lines and wrinkles, really?) when I came across the promo pics of YSL's Fall 2010 Couture Manicure "Rock & Baroque" which will be launched this August. I liked all the combinations, gold and plum, turquoise and purple, orange and fuschia except the pink and white which I think is boring.

Last night I gave it a try. I took a quick scan of all the nail lacquers I have, and decided on OPI's Jade is the new black and Curry up don't be late. Base coat from The Face Shop, topcoat is Seche Vite.

I can't believe I pulled it off! I did my own french tip manicure. Patience is key. *dancing in glee* I'm definitely going to practice more to improve my nail art skills.

Singa-purr! Pt. 2

First of all, I would like to apologize in advance to my dear cfbeauty friend Karen for going to the zoo. Sorry babe! I know how you feel towards caged animals. It was for my cutie patootie niece, I know you'll understand. :D You still love me right? hehe *hugs*

Day 3 was spent roaming around the Singapore Zoo, it was raining lightly when we got there, thats why I don't have a lot of nice pics to share. It just so much hassle holding an umbrella, my bag and taking out my camera. Plus my niece always wants to be carried, I'm not complaining, just explaining ;) I love carrying her, even if she weighs like a sack of rice HAHAHA! Im such a doting aunt. :D

side note: I can't believe I spent S$50 on fluffy animal keychains that day. Oh, the price of cuteness! ;)

After the zoo we went to the Shoppes @ The Marina Bay Sands, it wasn't completely open yet, there are stores still in their construction phase. But it was nice to see. My parents and niece rode the local version of Grand Canal's gondolas - Singapore Sampan's :)

The beauty blogger in me took notice of the OPI boutique, I went inside while my parents and niece were riding the sampans. They have a wide variety of products and nail polish shades, I tried some and got 3 bottles of nail polish which I think are waaaay overpriced. Yep, I only realized it now. Hey, I got excited ok? Don't judge. XD

they gave me a price list (read: EXPENSIVE!) for nail services, just tell me if you want to see it and I'll put it up for you.

Now, I know a lot of people who visit Singapore go to the Merlion as soon as they get settled in. Not us! We always get too tired to go see the mythical creature after our daily activities so we just did a quick family photo with the Merlion before going to the airport.

is it weird that I find the merlion adorable? I want a stuffed merlion pillow! I didn't go to the souvenir store so I'm not sure if they have one. Time for google search! ;)

I also got a souvenir pic with the Marina Bay Sands as back drop.

Hooray For May! A Haul Post feat. OPI, Shu Uemura x Tsumori Chisato and More Kawaii Stuff!

*please forgive me for leaving you breathless with that title.*

Its the last day of May! I cannot believe it's mid-year already, time surely flies by super fast! I'm sure all the filipino shopaholics are gearing up towards all the mid-year sales coming! Im only looking forward to one store, Mango (my favorite!) They have a lot of super cute dresses, tops and shorts for summer this year and I cannot wait to grab them all at lower prices!  Living in a tropical country has the advantage of wearing summer fashion all year long which I love! :)

Even if summer is nearly over for us here in the Philippines (as we have been experiencing random rain showers and thunderstorms recently) God blessed us with a clear sky today. I was out and about with my kid cousin all day, we went to the mall, had his hair cut, had really good pasta for lunch and then I bought him some other stuff he needed for school. It was a nice bonding thing for us. Even if we live in the same house and see each other everyday! :P

But of course, I wouldn't pass up the chance of hauling some stuff for myself,

here are some things which caught my little eyes and left my wallet lighter. ^_~

tested out 10 colors from Lippmann and OPI, but went home with these complexion flattering poopsies. (yep, I got that term from Ursula.) LOL!

Before going home, I dropped by by Bon's tangible store in Banawe, Quezon City called Wang-Lai Mart, which is loaded with yummy asian food, kawaii stuff and great beauty buys!  She stocks up on various BB creams like BRTC and L'egere, Shiseido fine toiletries like Tsubaki and some Jill Stuart too! Check out her site wehaveit43.multiply.com if you cant come to the store, she has really good prices for her products, plus she's really nice and polite. :) Im so sorry I dont have pics to show how her store is filled with Sanrio cuteness, I forgot my camera! *ashamed blogger*

So what did I come home with? I got this LE Tsumori Chisato Planet Pouch which sold out in stores a long time ago. Its part of Shu Uemura's Holiday 2009 collection. See my crazy haul post here.

I may be 25y.o. but obviously, I'm not over my stars obsession just yet, the star studs are so beautiful *mesmerizing* and the puffed pouch is functionally cute! :) Can you blame me? I hope not. :D
